이 노래는 미국 서부에서 활약한 2인조 갱 '부치 캐시디'와 '선댄스 키드'의 짧은 삶과 죽음을 그린 서부극 '내일을 향해 쏴라'에 삽입된 곡이다.

'폴 뉴먼'과 '로버트 레드포드'가 갱으로 열연하며 버디영화의 진수를 보여주는데..

"Rain Drops Keep FallingOn My Head"가 울려퍼지는 가운데 폴 뉴먼과 캐서린 로즈가 함께 자전거를 타는 모습,

죽는 순간까지 농담을 하며 빗발치는 총알속으로 질주하는 두 주인공의 라스트신은 명장면으로 기억되고 있다.

영화를 더욱 돋보이게 해준 건 바로 영화음악이었는데 폴 뉴먼이 로버트 레드포드의 여자친구를

자전거에 태우고 달리는 장면에서 사용되었던 "rain drops falling on my head"는

아카데미 음악상과 주제가상을 받은 영화답게 영화와 아주 잘 어울리는 명곡으로서
